WHAT SPECIALS DOES SPRING FESTIVAL IN VIETNAM ?

Vietnam is known as a country of festivals with nearly 8,000 festivals of different kinds. Addition, the spiritual significance of the original source, spring festivals are a chance for people to become closer and create a strong attachment to one another through community activities.

In Vietnam tradition there lies a wide range of colorful festivals and events, with the aim of as simple as entertaining the community or as meaningful as expressing respect to countries builders and heroes as well as commemorating remarkable events. For the Vietnamese people, spring is the season of festivals. Annually, after the lunar New Year festival, festivals are held in all regions of the country, from mountainous and rural areas to modern cities, lasting until the end of March of the lunar calendar.

It is a time for people to not only commemorate the merits of genies, national heroes and their ancestors, but also to relax after a year of hard work. On this occasion, people often go out together to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful scenery and the pure atmosphere of spring.

  • The Hung Kings’ Temple Festival :

  • The festival is dedicated to the Hung Kings who founded and constructed the nation. It is a fine custom of worshipping the ancestors of the Vietnamese people. With its great values, Vietnam has built up a profile to submit to UNESCO to recognize “The religion of worshipping Hung Kings” as an intangible cultural heritage of mankind.

  • Saint Giong Festival

  • Giong Festival is annually celebrated in spring time at several parts of Hanoi in order to commemorate Saint Giong, one of the four immortals of Vietnam. He is a great hero in Vietnam’s mythology, with his splendid merit in defending the country against foreign enemies.

  • Co Loa Festival
  • Do Son Festival is famous nationwide for its buffalo fighting competition
