DAY 01 LUANG PRABANG TO NONG KHIAW ALONG THE OU RIVER WITH LAO LEU VILLAGE VISIT (L, D)
After the flight, we have a free and leisure time in Luang Prabang, we begin to visit Tiger Trail in Luang Prabang and enjoy a scenic drive winding along the Nam Ou River to the small town of Nong Khiaw.On the way, we will have a short break for a visit at Ban Na Nyang, a Lao Leu village known for its Lao Leu traditional style houses and handicrafts.In the afternoon, we will arrive in Nong Khiaw and set aside time to explore. We will show you some local food for dinner and talk locals about life, story, culture…Overnight at the Nong Khiaw Riverside Lodge.
DAY 02 THE FAMOUS 100 WATERFALL TREK AND RIVERSIDE KHMU VILLAGE HOMESTAY (B, L, D)
Starting the new day with a peaceful boat ride on the Nam Ou you will be able to explore a small Lao village along the river side before heading into the waterfalls. Research about life, culture and tradition of locals along this river!”Whoa,whoa,whoa” is what the first travelers said after coming back from this simply astonishing waterfall hike !!!Strolling through small streams and rice paddies you arrive at the base of the 100 waterfalls. The next few hours you will see only water and jungle and hear the sound of clear waterfall cascades. The pools around you are very inviting for a refreshing splash.We will lead you through the cascades and prepare a local lunch on the falls in the middle of amazingly green nature…
A small village on the top of the 100 waterfalls will lead us back down into the valley offering wide views over the landscapes of the Nam Ou valley.Hike back to the Nam Ou River for boat transfer to Ban Houay Goong, a traditional Khmu village in a stunning setting on the riverbanks where you will spend an overnight in homestay.
DAY 03 NAALUANG TREK – MULTI-ETHNIC HIKE (L, D)
After breakfast, tourists will be picked by boat and vehicle to the trailhead and go straight to Naaluang. We will walk along rice fields (seasonal) and the past by a preserved forest with many old trees and fresh air.One special activity is that tourists will enjoy lunch in the woods which is prepared in advance along the way. Continue moving in 5-6 hours, we will find a tradition Lao-style village, still maintaining the ancient practice.You will have time to explore the village with supporting from the guide and have a chance to observe kids in session at the Tiger Trail Clay School operational since 2011.In day one, we will spend overnight staying in the village and have opportunity to enjoy the local foods. You are free to explore the surrounding in the evening or join other activities with indigenous peoples. This will be an unforgettable memory.
DAY 04 TREKKING THROUGH THE WOODS TO NAM OU RIVER AND RIDING BOAT TO OVERNIGHT IN MUANG NGOI (B, L)
After breakfast, we will depart from the village by local trail to the Nam Ou River. You will be overwhelmed with the beautiful scenery along the routes. You will come across a gorge with steep mountain sides. Travel will last four hours.We will visit a Khmu village staying near the banks of the Nam Ou River and enjoy the beauty of gardens. On the way to there, we will serve Lao style lunch. After that, we will ride a private boat to Muang Ngoi, a small but famous riverside village in Northern Laos and spent a night in Rattanavongsa guest house.
DAY 05 EXPLORING REMOTE VILLAGES IN THE NORTHERN (B, L, D)
When finishing breakfast, we will travel by local boat going upriver on the Nam Ou River in 45 minutes. You should take the time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and local villages on both sides of the river. We begin trekking about 5 hours from Muang Ngoy village to Ban Kioukhan, the village of Khmu ethnic group. Besides, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the landscape of the countryside and surrounding forests and mountains of Laos on the way.We will drop by to visit Tham Kaang on the way. This is the place for local villagers to shelter in the last Indochina War (1960 – 1972) which remained intact with beautiful surroundings. This place has incredibly beautiful and pristine views of mountains. Lunch will be served in the open air along the way. When arriving at Kioukhan in the afternoon, we will spend time exploring local people’s lifestyle. This time, we will shelter in the homestay and be dinning with the local residents.
DAY 06 TREKKING TO THE PEOPLE OF NORTHERN LAOS (B, L)
In the morning, after breakfast and farewell, we continue trek about 3.5 – 4 hours downhill to visit Ban Hadsapheuy. This is the village of Khmu ethnic group located in the side of Nam Ou River. Lunch will be served along the way reaching the pier to take a boat to down the river to Muang Ngoi.One of the most beautiful views of the Nam Ou River is the part lying between Ban Hatsaphuey and Muang Ngoi. This part famous for its views of the magnificent scenery of rocky mountains and rainforest. You could spend afternoon time enjoying and relaxing beautiful surrounding. Then, we will go back to Rattanavongsa guest house and sleep there.
DAY 07 VISITING MUANG NGOI AND LUANG PRABANG THEN EXPLORING PAK OU CAVE (B, L)
After finishing breakfast, we take a boat to return Nong Khiaw from Muang Ngoi. Then, you will experience riding private minivan to Luang Prabang. In there, we’ll stop to visit thousand years old Pak Ou Cave which is one of the most respective holy sites in Laos and the “Whiskey Village” where you could enjoy the cheapest alcohol in the world.Lunch will be served at a restaurant for the tourists with beautiful natural landscape surrounding. Luang Prabang is the last place of our unforgettable adventure tour. From there, we will go back to Nong Khiaw.End of tour.
