A great Laos soft adventure discovery tour for active people who like to bike and hike around Laos to experience the Lao nature and people. Now you can discover Nam Ha National Protected Area by the hike through mountains of the jungle forest, explore real nature and wild lifestyle…… overnight in the bamboo camp, enjoy traditional local food prepared with selected forest spices.
Day 1: Ban Nam Ha – Bamboo Camp
Start from our office by Tuk Tuk around 30 minutes to Ban Nam Ha, to be joined by a local Khmer guide. The first day’s pace is moderate through the Nam Ha NPA where the guide’s knowledge of edible and medicinal plants will be demonstrated… You will be hiking uphill to see several massive old trees, many types of bamboo and diverse forest plants. If you travel quietly you may see some wild animals such as monkeys, wild goats, and wild pigs. The traditional picnic lunch will prepare by the local guide.
After lunch continues to walk along the Nam Ha River to the bamboo camp we should arrive around 4:30 pm and overnight alongside the Nam Ha River. Besides resting, you are free to go fishing for dinner with your Khmu guide or stroll around the camp or opt for a refreshing swim in the Nam Ha River alongside your camp.
Day 2: Bamboo Camp – Ban Nalan – Ban Chaleunsouk
In the early morning, you are likely to hear many kinds of animals communicating such as bear, monkey, barking dear, gibbon, wild pigs and jungle fowl from the higher mountain tops or if you are especially fortunate you may see them moving through the forest. Before breakfast, early risers are free to take a walk around the camp. After breakfast prepared by our guide, you cross the Nam Ha River and walk through field visit Ban Nalan where you will learn about their lifestyle, culture and traditional, next hike uphill through the forest. Lunch will be prepared in the traditional way along the forest path. The guides can boil water and make soup in bamboo cooking vessels. They will encourage you to take part in the preparation of the meal, showing you how to construct simple spoons and chopsticks from bamboo and leaves. They will also brew a medicinal tea from wild plants collected along the way.
After lunch, you will have an easy two-hour hike down the mountain slope until you arrive at the Ban Chalernsouk, where your driver will be waiting to transport back to Luang Namtha.
