13 DAYS 12 NIGHTS AMAZING JOURNEY IN VIETNAM AND CAMBODIA

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (-/-D)

Upon arrival at Noi Bai airport, you will be transferred to hotel. Ha Noi, Vietnam’s capital, is one thousand-year-old city with peaceful lakes, French styled buildings, old quarter streets, three lined boulevards, brightly painted temples and pagodas.

Come to Ancient Capital of Hanoi

The afternoon is free to enjoy at your leisure. Dinner at a nice local restaurant in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi City (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we explore the city of Hanoi. First on the agenda is Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, where Uncle Ho is laid out in the state, surrounded by immaculately dressed soldiers.

Next, we will visit the Presidential Palace where Ho refused to live, choosing instead a small stilt house beside a lake. Close by, the next stop is the One Pillar Pagoda. A tour around the beautiful West Lake takes us to the venerable Temple of Literature.

After lunch, The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is a must for all visitors. This museum brings to life the astonishing ethnic diversity in Vietnam, with art and artifacts from the 54 different ethnic groups that inhabit the country.

The Traditional heritage of Vietnam

Inside the museum are detailed descriptions of minority groups, with examples of their traditional clothing and way of life. Outside are faithful reconstructions of traditional longhouses, cemeteries and other distinctive ethnic buildings.

Then, visit Hoa Lo Prison – The prison was built in Hanoi by the FrenchIt was intended to hold Vietnamese prisoners, particularly political prisoners agitating for independence who were often subject to torture and execution.

Discover the Old Quarter of Hanoi by cycle. This fascinating are of narrow alleys and shophouses is also called “36 streets”. Dinner is at a local Restaurant. In the evening, you will see a water puppet performance, which is a traditional Vietnamese art.

Day 3 Hanoi – Halong Bay (B/L/D)

Today we head out on the 4-hour drive to Halong Bay. Halong Bay was designated a World Heritage Site in 1994. Halong Bay, in the Gulf of Tonkin, includes some 1,600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars.

Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site’s outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest.

Come to enjoy the stunning views of one of the world’s 7 wonders

Upon arrival in Halong bay, we board our Junk for the overnight boat trip. After lunch, we begin our fantastic cruise in Halong Bay. The scenery is truly breathtaking and is continuously changing.

This includes a visit to Sung Sot Cave, round over Tuan Chau Island, Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island, Sail Island and a swim at Titov beach. Enjoy dinner on board while watching the sunset. Overnight on board.

Day 4: Halong – Hanoi – Hoi An(B/L/D)

After an early breakfast, we continue our cruise to visit Man‘s Head island, Tortoise Island, Bai Tu Long Bay, Toad Island and Bai Tho Mountain. Upon our return to Halong city we have lunch on board and then board our transport back to Hanoi in the afternoon to take a flight to Danang. Then transfer to Hoi An Ancient Town for leisure. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 5: Hoi An (B/L/D)

Enjoy a walking tour of the old center of Hoi An today. Visit an old merchant home, still lived in by descendants of the original merchant, the Japanese Bridge, Hoi A market and a local Chinese pagoda.

Hoi An – the ancient city that remains traditional heritage

This afternoon we have time to visit the tailors for which this town is known and soak up the charming atmosphere of Hoi An at one of the many riverside cafes along the Thu Bon River.

Day 6: Hoi An – cooking class (B/L)

Travel by minivan (10 mins) to Tra Que Organic Village, and walk through the market gardens where local farmers work their fields using the traditional methods of hundreds of years ago – no electrical machinery here.

We pick fresh saw-tooth coriander and Vietnamese mint for our cooking lesson later, before trying a special herbal drink at a local home.

Joining a cooking class to know more about Vietnamese food

To the local village market and with a shopping list in hand we purchase a range of local ingredients, including star anise, cardamom, sesame rice paper, water spinach and banana flower.

Arriving at Cooking School we have a chance to freshen up before beginning our class. Working together with our Chef we learn the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food from scratch.

Using the freshest ingredients and traditional Vietnamese utensils (still in use today) we cook 4 famous dishes, including the national dish ‘Pho’.

After the class, we sit down and a chance to savor the dishes we have prepared.

Leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River back to central Hoi An.

Free at leisure and explore Hoi A night on your own way. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 7: Hoi An – Danang – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D)

Drive to Danang for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon. The largest of Vietnam’s cities, the hustle and bustle of life everywhere co-exists with 300 years of timeless traditions and the beauty of an ancient culture.

Da Nang – the most worth living city of Vietnam

This afternoon begin our sightseeing by visiting the former Presidential Palace, War Remnants Museum, the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral and the French style central Post Office. Also visit Cholon, the Chinatown of Saigon where we see the huge Binh Tay wholesale market and the beautiful Thien Hau Pagoda. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City– Cu Chi (B/L/D)

Take an excursion to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an important base during the War because of its strategic location. The Vietcong built an elaborate 200km long network of tunnels connecting command posts, hospitals, shelters and weapons factories.

Drug of hard laterite by hand tools without the use of cement, this amazing network of tunnels was never discovered by their enemies. The afternoon is free for us to explore Saigon at our own pace. Enjoy dinner while cruising on Saigon River.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho (B/L)

After two hours by road from Ho Chi Minh’s bustling streets, we start venturing into the watery world of the Mekong Delta.

As a highlight of the trip, we take a cruise along narrow waterways through the lush vegetation to an orchard garden where we have the opportunity to visit local homes as well as enjoy a lunch followed with seasonal fruits.

Back to Ho Chi Minh City for overnight and leisure.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City – Siem Reap (B/L/D)

After breakfast fly to Siem Reap, home to Angkor Wat, one of the greatest religious monuments in the world. Take a tour to visit Angkor Wat and view the sunset from Phnom Bakheng hill, an unforgettable sight.

Built to honor the Hindu god Vishnu, Angkor Wat took nearly 40 years to complete. Inside the outer walls, the structure rises over three levels to a central core topped by five pineapple-shaped towers.

Come to the mysterious land – Siem Reap

Virtually every surface in the maze of chambers and courtyards is richly decorated with low-relief scenes of legends, wars and everyday life, enhanced by carvings of nearly 2,000 celestial dancers. Dinner is at a local restaurant.

Day 11: Siem Reap (B/L/D)

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the famous old palace, Angkor Thom (this last capital was indeed a ‘Great City’ as its name implies and it served as the religious and administrative center of the vast and powerful Khmer Empire.

It was grander than any city in Europe at that time and have supported a considerable population as high as one million) within Angkor Thom are Bayon (the giant stone faces of Bayon have become one of the most recognizable images connected to classic Khmer art and architecture.

Visit Takeo, Ta Prom Temple then afterward visit Angor Wat (Angkor Wat is visual, architecturally and artistically breathtaking. It is a massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five lotus like towers rising 65 meters from the ground level. Angkor Wat is the centerpiece of any visitor to the temples of Angkor).

Dinner at local restaurant with buffet and traditional Apsara Show.

Day 12: Siem Reap (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel, visit the Kravan temple, East-facing brick towers containing unique bas-reliefs of Vishnu and Lakshmi rendered in brick, Srah Srang, Originally constructed by the same architect that built Pre Rum temple, Banteay Kdei, sprawling, largely unrestored, monastic complex in much the same style as Ta Prohm.

There are lots of things to see and do in Siem Reap

Visit the Banteay Srey, one of the smallest temples in the region, Banteay Srey is also one of the most beautiful, showcasing the most exquisite, deep and complex carvings in all Khmer architecture.

Lunch at a restaurant; visit the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Take a traditional wooden boat for a ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. Dinner at restaurant and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 13: Siem Reap – dept (B/-/-)

Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.

End tour.
